It explored why health equity matters and described the effects of racism on mental health. Other important areas covered include intersectionality, bias, social inclusion and exclusion, power and privilege. The module offered information on how to work from an anti-racist, anti-oppression approach, and discussed moving from mere cultural awareness to cultural humility. It concluded with suggestions for how to foster allyship and solidarity.
Module 8 explores the enablers and barriers to seeking care for immigrants and refugees. It discusses pathways to care, what is needed to facilitate effective service use and interpretation services.
