Le module décrit la façon dont les clients accèdent aux services ou les utilisent, les mesures que les fournisseurs de service peuvent prendre pour faciliter la prestation de soins en santé mentale aux nouveaux arrivants et ce qu’il faut faire pour travailler de façon efficace avec un interprète. Divers facteurs influencent la façon dont les immigrants et les réfugiés demandent des soins en santé mentale, notamment leur connaissance des services offerts, la langue, les préjugés et le statut socioéconomique. Les fournisseurs de service jouent un rôle clé en mettant les clients en contact avec les services, en les aidant à surmonter les obstacles, en les sensibilisant à l’importance des soins primaires et en gardant à l’esprit le rôle de la culture dans le traitement. Lors du module, nous avons également discuté du rôle important que jouent les interprètes, de la façon dont ils peuvent venir en aide aux clients et des mesures que les fournisseurs de service peuvent prendre pour travailler de façon efficace avec un interprète.
Le module 9 décrit les partenariats et les stratégies de promotion de la santé mentale que les fournisseurs de soins de santé peuvent utiliser pour améliorer l’accès des clients aux services dont ils ont besoin.
