Around the world

In 2020, one in thirty people were migrants. This included:

281 million international migrants
(people residing in a country other than their own).

82.4 million people who were forcibly displaced from their home country as a result of persecution, conflict, generalized violence or human rights violations.

Among these:

169 million were labour migrants

26.4 million were refugees

4.1 million were asylum seekers
